Meet Elizabeth
founder of Woof Hoof Mew
Elizabeth Murphree was born to work with animals. Her compassion lends great strength to her deep desire to connect and take care of all living things. There has never been a moment that her soul didn't sing at even the mention of being around any creature. Most days you can find her dancing, singing and snuggling with the pets in her home and in her care.
When asked about her animal care background, this was her response:

"I have been an animal lover from the day I was born. I remember asking my Mom if I could ride a horse when I was a little girl. Her wise answer was "ask me again when you turn ten." The day I turned ten I went back to her and confidently said, "I'm ready to ride"... and with that I was off to pursue my life's passion.

Since then I have worked with animals of all shapes and sizes including Arabian show horses, show and hunting dogs, farm animals, and every house pet under the sun. My experience with my own farm and kennel operations were that I never was able to leave unless it was for an event related to the animals. Not to mention the fact that the animals had to come with me. It is so hard to find someone to trust with the care of any animals that have to be left behind... or heaven forbid that I would actually go anywhere without them!
This is why the creation of Woof Hoof Mew is so important to our community of animal lovers in Conifer and Evergreen. We all deserve to practice self-care! Vacations, new jobs, last minute event tickets, traveling for family emergencies, getting injured or even just being tired or sick are just a few of the reasons for the local team of Pet sitters we have here. I will always be a proponent of animal health and happiness along with the need for people to find balance and joy in their own lives without sacrificing the needs of their pets."

"I have always loved animals and have grown up around them. I rescued my first dog when I was 9, my second dog shortly after college and have had 2 cats and other dogs my entire adult life. During my teenage years, my uncle owned a ranch in Minnesota where I helped care for horses, mules and cattle. When I was in college I worked at a veterinary clinic where I worked with animals of all sizes and gained extensive experience in the health & welfare of animals. To sum it up, I love working with all animals big and small!"

My world has always been full of dogs, cats, horses, chickens, guinea pigs, snakes, & farm animals. Currently, I live with two dogs and four cats- my oldest is 21 years old! I used to travel often for work, and it was always terribly hard for me to leave my animals. I was thankful to have a trusted someone to care for my pets when I could not be home.
